Christy Baas (’01 CASL) is manager of Global Branding and Media at the international law firm of Miller Canfield. She manages external communications including media and public relations, advertising and web media for the firm’s 370 lawyers, disbursed across five countries. Prior to this position, Christy was the Account Coordinator at Lovio George, an organization that Christy was first introduced to through the Co-Op program on campus. She is co-founder of Vibe Fit, a fitness company serving metro Detroit. 

Christy joined the CASL Alumni Affiliate Board of Governors in 2003 and served as its chair from 2006 to 2009. She has also served on the Alumni Society Board of Governors. She has played an instrumental role in the success of November Indulge, a wine-tasting and silent auction event created as the premier event for the group’s scholarship fundraising. It is because of her dedication that the affiliate was able to award $14,000 in scholarships to UM-Dearborn CASL students. 

Her alumni involvement with campus also includes the Dearborn Homecoming, Opportunity Scholarship Interview Days, and potential student call-nights. Fellow alumni have said that Christy is “a prime example of how even our most recent alumni can make and incredibly meaningful impact on the future of UM-Dearborn.”
