Claire DeLisle

Taking an Active Role

CLAIRE’S STORY

Claire DeLisle is described as enthusiastic, thoughtful and resourceful. She's been treasurer of the College of Business’s Information Technology Management Club, where she was instrumental in leading a fundraising effort for the American Heart Association. She helped organize a successful talk and book signing by author John Gallagher during the campus’s Sustainability Week, which was attended by approximately 150 people.

She has also been active in the Association of Information Systems, the American Association of University Women and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals. She has been instrumental in assisting with planning and executing the College of Business’s Professional Development Week, where she co-organized a day of speed networking, organized an industry track panel for discussions with students and contributed overall to the development of the public panel discussion for the event.

In addition, Claire finds the time to direct a Novi Community School District performing arts group, where she teaches choreography and dance to high school students.

“She has a very helpful and enthusiastic attitude and consistently looks for ways to make things happen instead of looking for what is wrong,” says Mike Callahan, director of the College of Business’s internship program. “As a result, she is an effective leader of other students and someone who can truly energize a group to make things happen.”

IN MY OWN WORDS

"So far at UM-Dearborn, I have most impressed myself in how active I've become in the school and events that are put on. Joining the ITM Club really put me into the social group of student organizations who are really the people that make the college experience a great one. I've learned how to put on events, socialize and work with other organizations and students, and really put myself out there in making a difference in our campus. It's a great feeling to know that I've helped do great things."
