Through his involvement with groups like Michigan Delta Epsilon Chi (DECA) and Relay for Life, Michael Parr’s leadership and volunteer work have had lasting effects extending beyond his community, reaching across the state of Michigan and around the world. From 2008 to 2009, Michael was the State Vice President of Michigan DECA, an organization of college marketing students. Michael’s duties included representing 145 chapters of DECA to the state and federal government, corporate sponsors, and Michigan DECA staff. He has also been involved with Lincoln Park’s Relay for Life efforts, and served as Event Chair, where he oversees a fundraising event involving over 400 people.
Michael is deeply aware of the importance of Relay For Life’s mission, and its life-saving potential. “Cancer kills so many people,” he writes, “…and as an organization we are able to encourage our friends and family to get tested, be informed and live healthier lives.”
