Honor student Sakne Abass enjoys the balance between excelling academically and being an active participant in numerous university and community efforts. Her list of achievements is extremely impressive. Not only was she a National Liaison for the American Medical Student Association (AMSA), but also Secretary of the UM-Dearborn Soccer Club and a member of the UM-Dearborn Cross Country Club. Additionally she's been a member of the Pre-Professional Health Society (PPHS) as well as the Macedonian American Student Association (MASA). Sakne has volunteered for many events and organizations in Dearborn, Michigan, including Gandhi Day, Make a Difference Day, MLK Day, Salvation Army, Gleaners and many others.
I have taken it upon myself to stay involved in student life on campus because it brings me closer to peers as well as staff and faculty and enhances my college experience.
Sakne has had an undeniably positive impact on the lives of many of her peers, coworkers, colleagues and professors who are happy to see her receive this honor.
