Sarah Jaward attributes a large part of her development as an individual to the various organizations that she has been part of. She feels that her participation in the Blueprints Leadership Program helped her to develop her leadership skills. She also acted upon her passion for helping others by joining Amnesty International, the Arab Student Union, and Students United for Peace and Justice. Sarah was also the Vice-Present of Student Government. She has been an intern for both the Arab American Institute and for the Honorable Judge David Allen.
Sarah’s achievements have not gone unrecognized. In fact, she received the Distinguished Student Leader Award as well as the Emerging Student Leader Award. Additional awards she has been honored with include the Synergy Award, ACCESS Spirit of Service Award, Helen Abbott Service Award and the Lebanese American Heritage Club Scholarship. Sarah feels that much of her success is owed to those peers and leaders she has worked with who motivate and inspire her. “We can only make a difference if we are given the resources and are surrounded by individuals who see and believe in the same vision we have.”
