An outstanding student who has demonstrated a passion for making a difference in the lives of others, Sarah Qarana has helped set up medical clinics in Somoto, Nicaragua, and built homes for Habitat for Humanity in Michigan. “My passion for helping others...is a constant theme in my everyday life...I hope to inspire and motivate all the students who walk the halls of UM-Dearborn long after my departure. I hope that they will be filled with conviction and a sense of pride knowing that they have helped their common man, that they have taken the path least traveled and have become Difference Makers.”
During her time at UM-Dearborn, Sarah worked hard to enhance student life on campus. She has served as president of the Chaldean American Student Association and treasurer of the Iraqi Student Association, and is member of the Pre-Professional Health Society and the Psi Chi National Honor Society of Psychology. Her efforts have been recognized with several leadership awards.
